IWA Media x 3D Creatives Lab - Cohort One

EKARO

The First Observers

You will not learn to create content.

You will learn to build living identities for organisations.

And you will graduate with a permanent role - not a certificate.

Applications opening soon - 8-12 selected practitioners

The Problem

Organisations spend millions on branding.

They get logos, fonts, and voice guides.

They feel empty.

The organisations of this generation have been taught to look designed — but not to be designed. They have 2D surfaces and no living architecture beneath them. No character. No cultural rootedness. No emotional memory.

Meanwhile, a generation of media practitioners was trained to produce — not to perceive. Optimised for reach. Measured in likes. Creating content for an algorithm that has no memory of who they are.

Two systems, both hollow. Ekaro solves both — at once.

The Method

The 7-Archetype Identity Loop

Every organisation in the ecosystem is built through this architecture. This is what you will learn to build.

01

Identity

Who is it?

Personality, form, archetype, cultural DNA, energy, presence. The organisation as a living character — not a brief.

02

Behaviour

How does it act?

Posting rules, response style, silence protocols, collaboration terms. How the character moves through the world.

03

Emotion

How does it feel?

Emotional tone, warmth, firmness, softness. The feeling people carry after every contact with the organisation.

04

Culture

Where does it belong?

African language layer, Nsibidi accents, cultural grounding. Roots that make identity exportable — not borrowed.

05

Expression

How does it show up?

Colour behaviour, symbol systems, texture systems, organic shapes. Visual language that lives beyond a logo.

06

Sound

What does it sound like?

Sonic signature, audio mood mapping, whispered cultural words, breath sounds. Sound is identity — not background.

07

Experience

What do people go through?

Designed touchpoints. Every interaction carries insight, emotion, or perspective. Programs become experiences.

The Journey

16 Weeks. Five Phases.

Each phase maps to a Cultural Archetype. You observe, translate, and build — together.

Phase I · Wk 1-2 · Ekaro — "A new day begins"

Orientation — Identity + Culture

Unlearn content creation. Study the organisation as a living character. Human-Centered Design foundations. The IWA ethical compass: restraint before spectacle, dignity in every frame.

Deliverables: Visual philosophy · Character journal · Cultural DNA map

Phase II · Wk 3-5 · Ise — "Action through presence"

Immersion — Expression + Sound

No publishing. No posting. No feedback. Fourteen to twenty-one days of deep observation. Silence the output impulse. Shadow routines. Photograph spaces without subjects. Document emotional atmospheres.

Deliverables: 20 faceless system images · Colour emotion map · Sound field recordings

Phase III · Wk 6-9 · Ajose — "We build together"

Translation — Behaviour + Emotion

See patterns, not moments. The Observation → Interpretation → Hypothesis chain. Translate raw documentation into systemic insight. Reveal the invisible systems operating beneath the surface.

Deliverables: Visual case study · Behaviour protocol · Emotion map

Phase IV · Wk 10-13 · Ironu — "Reflection"

Prototype — Experience Design

The full 7-archetype loop runs. Before → During → After documentation cycle. Design every touchpoint to carry insight, emotion, or learning. Programs become experiences.

Deliverables: Full loop documentation · Content template system

Phase V · Wk 14-16 · Iyin — "We see you"

Ethical Review — Full Loop

No output published without lab review. Internal critique circle. Dignity assessment. Systemic impact evaluation. Graduates earn permanent co-contributor roles in the licensed ecosystem.

Deliverables: Certification · Peer endorsement · Permanent ecosystem role

What You Become

Graduate Roles

Not a title. A function within a living ecosystem. These are the roles Cohort 1 earns.

Oluso Oju

"The one who watches with eyes"

Cultural Observer

Sees patterns others miss. Maps human energy, spatial dynamics, and emotional atmospheres. The field sensor who captures system conditions.

Onitumo

"The one who interprets meaning"

Systems Translator

Converts raw observation into systemic insight. Bridges physical reality and digital interpretation. Builds the Observation → Interpretation → Hypothesis chain.

Olugbo Ohun

"The one who hears the voice"

Sound Steward

Designs and documents the sonic identity. Records cultural words, breath sounds, spoken poetry. Builds the emotional memory imprint through sound.

Asamisi

"The one who gives marks"

Expression Architect

Designs the visual language — colour behaviour, Nsibidi accents, background word textures, organic shapes. Translates culture into visual code.

Oluso Asa

"The one who guards culture"

Identity Custodian

Maintains the character architecture. Ensures all outputs carry the personality, cultural DNA, and behavioural rules. The quality guardrail of the system.

Oluko Iriri

"The one who teaches through experience"

Experience Designer

Designs what it feels like to interact with the organisation. Every touchpoint carries insight, emotion, or perspective. Programs become experiences.

Why Now

The market is ready. The methodology exists. The window is open.

AI-generated content has flooded every platform. Audiences can no longer tell what is real. The most valuable practitioners are now the ones who document reality — not simulate it.

The most credible brands of the next decade will be the ones that feel culturally grounded. Not aesthetically African — architecturally African. Built from observation, not imagination.

The certification market is collapsing. Learners are rejecting courses that end in PDFs. The question is no longer "what did you study?" — it is "what role do you hold?"

No existing program sits at the intersection of African cultural methodology, living identity systems, and guaranteed role placement. This space is currently unoccupied.

The window to be the first is closing.
Cohort 1 is the founding generation.
